Clonicol(Chloramphenicol 0.5%) Eye Drops- 10ml.
₦1650.00

Clonicol Eye Drops contain Chloramphenicol 0.5% w/v, a broad-spectrum antibiotic eye drop used to treat bacterial surface infections of the eye, such as acute bacterial conjunctivitis.
- Active Ingredient: Chloramphenicol 5 mg/ml (0.5%).
- Mechanism: It stops bacteria from growing and multiplying by blocking their protein synthesis, allowing your body’s immune system to clear the remaining infection.
- Primary Use: Treats bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) characterized by redness, grit, burning, and sticky yellow or green discharge that glues the eyelashes together. It is not effective against viral or allergic eye conditions.
- Standard Dosage: Typically 1 to 2 drops applied to the affected eye(s) every 2 to 3 hours during the initial days, then spaced out as symptoms improve (follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s specific instructions).
- Duration: Treatment is usually continued for about 5 days (and should be carried on for at least 48 hours after the eye appears normal). Do not use for more than 5 days without consulting a doctor.
- Application Tips:
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket, and release the drop inside without touching the dropper tip to your eye or fingers.
- Close your eye gently and press a finger against the inner corner of the eye for 1–2 minutes to keep the medicine from draining out too fast.
Important Safety & Precautions
- Contact Lenses: Do not wear contact lenses while using chloramphenicol eye drops. Wait at least 24 hours after finishing your full course of drops before wearing them again.
- Side Effects: You may experience a brief stinging, burning, or temporary blurred vision right after putting in the drops.
- When to See a Doctor Immediately: Stop use and seek medical advice if you experience severe eye pain, changes in vision, a rash on your face/head, a cloudy eye, or if symptoms do not improve after 2 days.
- Prescription Status: In Nigeria and many regions, chloramphenicol eye drops are generally dispensed upon medical advice or prescription. Yo
